Welcome to Woolaston School. I am thrilled to be given the new challenge of teaching the Year 6 class; I will strive to ensure that each and every child in my class reaches their potential. I began my teaching career through teaching PE before moving onto Primary, where I now thoroughly enjoy teaching a range of subjects. I am an active person who loves walking, running, cycling and tackling mountains. As a teacher, I see it as my role to provide the children with a safe environment to develop academically, spiritually and socially.
I enjoy seeing the children develop independence and a more mature understanding of the world around them. Every child is unique and capable of voicing their views and opinions on the learning they partake in and the events that occur around them. I am particularly interested in allowing the children to express and articulate these views as we work our way through the curriculum.
I thoroughly enjoy planning and delivering an engaging and practical curriculum where the children can learn through their experiences. I think it is imperative that the children are aware of how they can improve and progress, and this achievable through an understanding of very clear steps to success. I am particularly looking forward to teaching the children to become competent computer coders through use of Scratch and Turtle programming.
I am very pleased to welcome back Mrs Rees to my classroom; she will continue to support the children with their learning. I also welcome Miss Gibbs, Mrs Phillips and Miss Dobbs, who will continue to support individuals within the class. I will look forward to a successful year of learning and meeting you all soon.
