Learn, Achieve, Celebrate, Together
Dear Mercury,
This week your task is to learn how to spell words that sound like ‘j’ but which are spelt ‘dge’
The words are - edge, badge, fudge, judge, hedge, bridge, fridge, porridge,
Use the Rainbow Writing strategy we learnt in class today and Fred Fingers to help you to learn the spellings for a test next Friday 2nd October.
Learn as many as you can and enjoy !
Mrs Bennett-Coleman
Mercury Class,
Please learn how to spell these words ready for a Spelling Test next Friday 25th September.
-tch words
catch, fetch, hutch, witch, watch ('watch' this word! We say 'wotch' but we spell 'watch')
snatch, stretch, kitchen ( another tricky one, we say 'kitchin' but spell 'kitchen')
Try to learn the spelling of as many of the words as you can. Aim for at least 4.
To practise your spellings, use the Fred Fingers technique you have been taught in class and always write the words down. You could even write the 'tch' part of the word in a different colour. Enjoy!
