Welcome to Atlantis!
Welcome to our class page. I am Mr Rushton and for the upcoming year I will have the pleasure of teaching year 4. In our class this year, Mrs Brooks and Mrs Rees will also be a part of the teaching team. We are all very excited to see what lies ahead and to begin our journey in year 4.
I have been a member of the teaching staff at Woolaston since I became a qualified teacher and my passion for improving this wonderful school grows each year. Since arriving at Woolaston School, I have been a part of the KS2 teaching team. I have worked across years 3, 5 and now 4. Because I have worked across the key stage, I believe I have a clear vision of where the children have come from and where we are aiming to get to. I thoroughly enjoy teaching in KS2; the children are developing their abilities across their school life and still have that important thirst for learning. It will be a pleasure to see the children grow academically, spiritually and socially over the course of the year.
I enjoy teaching all areas of the curriculum to allow varied and wide learning opportunities. The opportunity to give children the platform to be confident and shine is something that I believe in strongly. As a teaching team, we will be giving as many opportunities as possible for the children to be proud, happy and to enjoy the upcoming year.
Homework will be distributed - virtually - on Fridays. I expect it to be completed by the following Thursday at the latest. Any queries can be sent to the class email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Spellings will be distributed - virtually - on Fridays. The children will then be tested on these spellings the following Friday.
Our PE slot is every Monday morning. Please send your child to school in their PE kit.
During my PPA time, which is on a Wednesday afternoon, the children will be taught French (MFL) by Mrs. J. Rees and PSHE (Pink Curriculum) by Mrs. J. Lewis.
