The PTFA (Parent, Teacher and Friends Association) is a group of parents, carers, staff and supporters who work together to enrich school life and strengthen our school community. Our aim is to create memorable experiences for children while raising funds for projects, resources and opportunities that go beyond the school's core budget.

 

Through a range of events and activities throughout the year, the PTFA helps provide additional resources that enhance learning, support wellbeing and make Woolaston School an even better place for children to learn, grow and thrive.

The PTFA and the Governing Body both support the school, but they have very different roles.

The PTFA focuses on:

- Raising funds for the benefit of pupils.

- Organising social and community events.

- Building strong relationships between families, staff and the wider community.

- Supporting projects and opportunities that enhance school life.

Why Get Involved?

Joining the PTFA is a fantastic way to become more involved in your child's school experience. Whether you're new to the school or have been part of the community for years, the PTFA offers opportunities to:

- Meet other parents and carers.

- Build friendships and connections within the school community.

- Support activities that directly benefit children.

- Share ideas and help shape future events.

- Develop new skills and gain confidence.

- Make a positive and lasting difference to school life.

Most importantly, every contribution helps create opportunities and experiences that benefit all our pupils.

 

What will be expected of me? 

The simple answer is whatever time you can spare.

There is no minimum commitment and no expectation that volunteers attend every event or meeting. We understand that families have busy lives, and we welcome support in whatever way works for you.

You can get involved by:

- Attending PTFA meetings.

- Helping at school events.

- Supporting fundraising activities.

- Sharing and promoting events on social media.

- Donating raffle prizes or pre-loved items.

- Offering your skills, ideas or expertise.

- Helping to organise or coordinate activities.

You are welcome to come along to meetings simply to listen, find out more and meet other parents. Some volunteers choose to take on a more active role, while others help occasionally throughout the year. Every contribution, big or small, is valued and appreciated.

Rachel Barber – Chair 

Hi, I'm Rachel. I have two kids at Woolaston Primary School. I joined the PTFA as my kids love all the events and I thought I’d lend a hand.

 

 

Jodie Jones - Secretary

Hi, I’m Jodie. I have one kid at Woolaston Primary School and one at Under 5’s. I joined the PTFA as I wanted to make sure my daughters have the best opportunities and experiences in Woolaston. We can make a difference by working together. When you see the smiles on the children's faces on the events it's all worthwhile.

 

Amelia Ortiz – Treasurer

Hi, I'm Amelia, I have two kids at Woolaston Primary School. I joined the PTFA as I hope we can help provide a more enriching environment for the kids at the school. I'm looking forward to the year ahead.

 

Emily Gilling – Trustee

Hi, I'm Emily. My son’s at Woolaston Primary School, and I joined the PTFA because I wanted to play an active part in making school life even more exciting and memorable for the children.

 

 

Ashleigh Eve – Member

Hi, I’m Ashleigh. My daughter’s at Woolaston Primary School. I joined the PTFA because I wanted to get involved in creating all the fun activities, events and special memories that our children can enjoy as part of their primary school experience. I'm really looking forward to helping make their time at school that little bit more exciting and memorable!

Hi, I’m Hannah. I have two children at Woolaston Primary School. I went to Woolaston School myself, so I have a real passion for the school and would love to help create the same happy experiences for my children that I had growing up.

Hi, I’m Lucy. I have a daughter at the school and have been involved in the PTFA since she started at Woolaston. I want her and all the kids to have the resources and experiences that make a happy & rich school life.

Hi, I’m Pati. I have two children in school. I joined because I wanted to give something back to the school community, help support events and activities for the children, and hopefully contribute in some small way to making a positive difference.
