Woolaston School is currently looking for either an office Manager or a School Business Manager. Candidate suitability will dictate which role we appoint for.

 

Office Manager

 

Grade 5 – dependent on experience and qualifications.

 

The Headteacher and Governing Body of Woolaston Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional for the post of School Office Manager in this well-established, creative and forward-thinking school.

 

The successful applicant will be employed for 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time only.  It is expected that holidays are taken outside of term time.

 

The School Office Manager is responsible for personnel, administration and premises of the school together with line management responsibilities for the School Administrators, Caretaker and Cleaning Teams.

 

 

The School Office Manager reports directly to the Headteacher.

 

The Office Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the day to day running of the school administrative processes
  • Managing the school website and communications with stakeholders
  • Managing basic HR and finance functions
  • Day to day management of our school administration and maintenance team
  • Day to day management of school health and safety compliance
  • Day to day management of school MIS systems

 

We are looking to recruit someone who:

  • Has a background in leading administrative functions ideally in a busy school office environment
  • Has excellent IT and literacy skills
  • Has highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Is able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Is well-organised, efficient, flexible, calm, friendly, motivated and passionate about providing an excellent support service to our children, staff and visitors
  • Enjoys working with people and is looking for a new challenge in a growing organisation

 

School Business Manager

 

Grade 6- to be agreed be agreed dependent on qualifications and experience.

 

The Headteacher and Governing Body of Woolaston Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional for the post of School Business Manager in this well-established, creative and forward-thinking school.

 

The successful applicant will be employed for 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time only.  It is expected that holidays are taken outside of term time.

 

The School Business Manager will complete all roles of a School Office Manage but will aso be responsible for the finances in the school.

 

The School Business Manager reports directly to the Headteacher and the Finance and premises Committee of the Governing Body. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Leadership Team and will be instrumental in creating a financially stable school which in turn, leads to better outcomes for our children.

The successful candidate will:


• Have the CSBM or a recognised financial qualification.
• Have significant financial experience.
• Be skilled in the use of Word and Excel software.
• Be self-motivated, pro-active and adaptable.
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Have strong inter-personal skills.
• Be highly literate as well as numerate.
• Be a team player with a good sense of humour.

Clerk to the Governing Body

Grade 6 (SCP 15-20) £23,541 - £25,991 pa pro rata

 

 

The Headteacher and the Governing Body are looking to recruit a committed and competent Clerk. We are looking for a candidate with excellent organisational and communication skills, who is able to work to deadlines.

The role requires you to follow School and Gloucestershire County Council Governor Services guidelines.

Duties include:
• Working with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors to set agendas
• Sharing supporting papers in good time for each Governors meeting
• Recording accurate minutes and distributing agreed versions to Governors
• Being responsible for drafting correspondence for the Governing Body
• Recording Governor attendance and training
• Setting up Governor hearings, interview and appeal panels
• Keeping up to date with current developments and legislation affecting Governance.

 

We are looking for someone who has excellent administrative skills as they are required to organise meetings, prepare agendas and provide advice to the Governing Body ensuring that Governor’s time is used to benefit the pupils and school effectively. You should be able to manage information and are required to minute Full Governing Body Meetings (including an AGM) Committee and Special Meetings, recording the process outcomes of collective decision-making and challenge. You will be responsible for maintaining governing body records and need the ability to find the information governors require to enable them to make informed decisions.

 

The Clerk is required to work 76 hours per year, equivalent of 2 hours per week, 38 weeks a year.  This time includes attending approximately six Governing Body meetings per year, AGM and six committee meetings and writing up minutes and correspondence. Confidentiality is essential to the role and you will need to ensure we are fulfilling our legal obligations; this also includes website compliancy.

 

The ability to be flexible is essential as Governing Body meetings are held mainly during the evenings and committee meetings during the day.  Experience, however is not essential as full training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
