'Together we grow, achieve and celebrate’
Welcome to Woolaston Primary School.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taste of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have.
We teach children in the local community and we are proud to be part of the Forest Edge Federation together with Tutshill Church of England Primary. We believe that education opens the window to our children's futures and we ensure that we support children's development both academically and socially.
The school has 5 classes all named after birds, these are:
EYFS/Y1 - Sparrows
Year 1/2 - Starlings
Year 3/4 - Robins
Year 4/5 - Woodpeckers
Year 6 - Herons
The school day starts at 9.00am and ends at 3.30pm, school gates open at 8.50 am when children and parents can come on to the school yard until the pupils are welcomed into their class at 8.55am. At the end of the day the school gates open at 3.20pm when parents can come on to our school yards to wait for their children to come out.
There are two entrances to the school, the top entrance by Woolaston Community Centre and the gate in between Woolaston Under 5's and the school building.
At the end of the day, children are dismissed on to the school playground and handed to parents. We will not let a child go home with anyone else unless we receive prior notice. Children in Year 5 and Year 6 may want to walk home on their own but we ask that parents put this in writing before we will allow them to do this.
Children aqt Woolaston Primary receive a broad and balanced curriculum that not only follows the National Curriculum but also addresses the needs of the pupils and takes into consideration the locality and history of our school.
The school has termly values which support our pupils to become respectful and considerate as well as independent and resilient learners who persevere even when they find things difficult. We want our pupils to leave our school ready for the next stage of their education and to have developed an enthusiasm for learning.
Should you have any questions that have not been answered, please do not hesitate to make contact.
